Nature and Adventure
Day 1 - Flying into Split-Kastel Stari Airport via Budapest with Malev Airlines, arriving mid-afternoon. Coach transfer to accomodation base in Knin. Meal followed by walking tour of town. Afterwards a briefing session on the weeks events and an official reception.
Day 2 - Leave base after breakfast at 08:30 and drive to nearby Krka National Park (as seen in above photo). An activity filled day is punctuated by lunch as the group will be taken on a whitewater rafting trip down the Krka River and then treated to a kayaking lesson. After a change of clothes the group will have dinner in Sibenik followed by a walking tour of the old town.
Day 3 - Leave Knin at 08:30 and travel to Vodice where the group will be taken rock-climbing. Then after lunch paintballing will be the messy fun before changing and going for dinner. The night will be well spent on a leisure cruise among the many islands on the North and Central Dalmatian Coast, before heading back to the base for some rest.
Day 4 - Leaving Knin at 08:30 the group will look forward to a days hiking in the Paklenica National Park. The beech forests and steep gorges are a favourite haunt for the eager walker and lunch will be taken on the choice trail, as the park unfolds beneath. The evening meal will be in the historic and walled town of nearby Zadar. This community was graced by the Irish Saint Donat, after whom the cathedral was named. A walking tour of the town will settle the night nicely before returning to Knin.
Day 5 - Leaving Knin at 08:30 again the group will take off from Split and spend the day island hopping. Lunch will be taken "off the mainland" and dinner will be had in Split. A night tour of the cities ancient ruins and medieval streets will finish off a healthy day (and a McDondald's visit isn't out of the question!).
Day 6 - Leaving Knin at 08:30 and returning to Split for a day of education, exploration and adventure. Beginning with a hike up the magnificent Marjan Hill to view the spectacular coastline then lunch back in the city centre, the day continues with a tour of the excavated Diocletian's Palace, shopping and dinner in a fine restaurant as we bid farewell to the city.
Day 7 - A final tour of Knin, and seeing the town from the top of the impressive fortress (see picture below) in daylight, sends the group on it's way back down to the coast and a final two hours shopping in the Mercator Mall before saying goodbye to the Adriatic and returning home.
All the above details can be altered or changed to cater the groups needs. A tour guide can accompany the group at all times or just when desierd by the group leaders. The town of Knin is a safe and hospitable base from which to travel as well as offering the type of environment where the maximum fun can be had by the group!
